  2. Mail the completed rebate application and supporting documentation to:

What is an ECM fan motor?

ECM (electronically commutated motor) fan motors typically use significantly less electricity than traditional induction furnace fans. When heating or cooling your home with a forced-air furnace or air handler, the heated or cooled air is circulated throughout your home via ductwork by a fan located inside your furnace or air handler.

What if there's something wrong with the work or the equipment installed? Who do I speak to or call?

Contact the contractor, the Better Business Bureau or the Pennsylvania Bureau of Consumer Protection.

For my central air, heat pump or ductless system, how are SEER, EER and HSPF ratings determined?

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio), EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) and HSPF (Heating Season Performance Factor) ratings are determined by entering the model number of the indoor coil, the outdoor unit, and in many cases, the air handler/furnace into the AHRI directory. If the complete system does not meet all the program requirements, you will not be eligible for a rebate. Please read the application to view the minimum requirements.

How do I know if my installation qualifies?

Please refer to the HVAC application for all minimum requirements. You may also contact us at FirstEnergyRebates@FranklinEnergy.com or 855.897.6394 with any questions regarding requirements.

Will the heating and cooling equipment my contractor installed be inspected by FirstEnergy?

FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania utilities' Residential Products Rebate Program conducts on-site verification from a sampling of program participants. By signing your rebate application, you have agreed to allow access to your home and the rebated product for verification. If selected for this verification, you will be contacted and asked to participate.

What is required on the contractor invoice/proof of purchase receipt?
  • Contractor name and contact information
  • Installation date
  • Product manufacturer and model number
  • Total cost of installation
  • Proof of payment

Please email us at FirstEnergyRebates@FranklinEnergy.com to request a login to our easy-to-use contractor portal. You will need to provide your customer's account information, AHRI certification number and a paid invoice.
